Cette variété ancienne d'aubergine fut introduite sur le marché vers les années 1910. Elle produit de façon abondante et précoce des fruits voilet foncés, en forme de poire, mesurant environ 15 cm. Cette variété a sue traversé les époques et se retouve encore plus de 100 ans après son apparition courament dans les potagers des jardiniers amateurs.
